This pen-and-ink wash drawing of the first Masonic Hall was done by Nashville bookseller William A. Eichbaum in the 1850s. The Hall was finished around 1820 and was constructed in the Classic Revival style. Located on Church Street, the Hall served as the first Tennessee State Capitol from 1820-1853. The first Masonic Hall burnt in 1856 and was replaced the second Hall on the same grounds.
