Cherry Street Baptist Church, on the corner of then Elm and Cherry Streets, was used as the post hospital. It was 58×92 feet, housing 125 beds. Like most other period churches in Nashville during the Civil War, this facility was used as military hospital to treat hundreds of soldiers during the war. A National Archives image.
